Job Description:
1. Assessment of local security conditions, including modalities for reporting information and liaison with local authorities.
2. Prepare, rendering operational and implementing country security plan in accordance with the guidelines contained in the UN Field Security Handbook including updating national and international staff list.
3. Responsible for ALL aspects related to emergency (security related) UN communication network (HF and VHF).
4. Responsibilities and duties related to office security. Shall undertake tasks aimed at maximizing the security of UN premises at the duty station.
5. Provide assistance in the conduct and follow up of investigation and reports on the security related incidents affecting UN staff and UN offices and maintain an accurate and detailed record of all security incidents occurring in the office.
Reporting on all security incidents immediately to CFO/UNICEF Security Adviser & DSS.
Weekly written report to CFO and UNICEF Security Adviser giving break down of incidents/analysis and recommendations for continued operations.
6. Maintain close contact and liaise with host government agencies and other UN offices to obtain the latest information regarding the security situation in the country and advise the CFO on latest trends and threats to staff safety and security.
7. Assist in the maintenance and monitoring of MOSS (Minimum Operational Security Standards and Minimum Operational Residential Security Standards (MORSS) compliance on staff accommodation, offices, equipment and other areas.
8. Provide support in organizing and conducting training courses on security issues/awareness and preparedness that include newly assigned staff members. Security orientation briefing is also given to new staff members upon arrival at the duty station.
9. Perform other duties as may be assigned by the CFO.
