Job Description:
Maintaining current documentation of Administration procedures and documenting any changes to Standard Operating Procedures.
Write scripts for SQL/NT Automation (Example: Setting up Jobs/Backup User).
Maintaining current documentation of Installations and documenting any changes to Standard Operating Procedures.
Responsible for the proper installation of all TSG products and for installing and configuring SQL Server 7/2000 and Windows NT/2000 on the database servers, and implement IIS Websites for product efforts. Including the packaging of the setup files, as well as databases, for all new products and storing them in a controlled area prior to deployment. All necessary files must be arranged for by SI, either file transfer or by mailing CD-Rom to site. This ensures that before an installation goes to the site all aspects have been thoroughly examined in-house, which provides a consistent and error-free installation at every site.
Implementing NT Security on all SQL servers and new NT servers along with creation of standard folders and shares.
Installing or creating any necessary databases on the new database servers and installs all necessary SQL support procedures.
Installation of new database objects at existing sites and TSG.
Write and perform SQL Conversions.
Provide on-call support and answer severity calls, problem resolution.
Expert knowledge of installing, configuring, upgrading SQL server 2000 and 2005
Strong background with day to day administration and maintenance of SQL 2000 / 2005 database environment and Windows 2000/2003 environment
Windows/ SQL troubleshooting experience
Must have strong knowledge of all the standard SQL Server tools like Replication
Understanding of all SQL Server functionality (Database/ Analysis/ Reporting) and prior experience with disaster recovery
SQL Server 2000/2005 DBA
Database Backups/Recovery Experience
Windows OS (2000/20003) Troubleshooting experience
WINDOWS/SQL server performance Monitoring Experience
Effective written and verbal communication skills, with both technical and non-technical audiences
Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills
Should be good team player and demonstrate patience and composure under pressure situations
