Training Specialist at United Nations, Islamabad

Job Description:
Under the overall supervision of the Project Manager, EC Food Facility Project, and under the direct supervision and guidance of the Area Coordinator, the Training Specialist will be responsible to perform the following tasks and duties, but not limited, for the project GCP/PAK/115/EC-Food Facility.

1. Provide technical assistance and training to FAO#8217;s implementing partners in the formation, coordination, guidance, supervision and implementation of Farmer Field Schools.

2. Prepare guidelines for the selection of beneficiaries and formation of Farmer Field Schools.

3. Assist FAO#8217;s implementing partners in the selection of beneficiaries, distribution of agricultural inputs, and establishment of agro-processing marketing ventures and implementation of Farmer Field Schools.

4. Preparing the curricula for the Training of Trainer and Farmer Field Schools through a consultative process of all stakeholders.

5. Prepare education materials for use by farmer field schools in the improved production of key food crops as well as commercially viable crops in the project areas.

6. Assist logistic staff in the provision of agricultural inputs to project beneficiaries (e.g. specifications, quantities, and packaging of seeds, fertilisers and tools).

7. Assist agronomist, soil fertility expert and soil and water engineer in achieving enhanced agriculture production objectives of the project.

8. Assist the Monitoring and Reporting officer in the day to day monitoring of agricultural interventions and completion of monthly project monitoring sheets.

9. Assist the FAO/ERCU#8217;s Monitoring and Reporting officer and PIUs in the post-harvest impact of FAO#8217;s early recovery and medium-term livelihood rehabilitation interventions in the project areas including design of surveys, data analysis and reporting.

10. Ensure the submission of weekly/monthly work plan, monthly, quarterly, annual and final progress reports.

11. Represent FAO in forums related to the establishment and strengthening of Farmer Field Schools approach in Pakistan.

12. Perform any other associated duties as required by the Project Manager or Area Coordinator.
