Economist/Senior Economist – IMF

Job Description:
Applications are invited for the position of an Economist/Senior Economist at the IMF Resident Mission in Islamabad for a period of one year initially, with possibility of extension.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Under the overall supervision of the IMF Resident Representative, the incumbent will perform the following tasks:

Liaise with different government departments and agencies to collect Information on economic developments and Issues and to evaluate policy, initiatives and implementation
Process/complete/update macroeconomic statistics collected from various government, public sector entities and other sources in formats readily usable for policy analysis
Prepare notes on economic issues/development
Liaise with other multilateral organizations (World Bank, Asian Development Bank, UNDP etc) to develop understanding of the size and scope of operation of these organizations
Qualifications and Remuneration

Ph.D. or master’s degree in economics (preferably macroeconomics/ money/international trade or finance) and excellent command of the English language, both spoken and written, Must have extensive experience in data management and quantities skills. A pleasant, energetic and collegial personality is essential for the position.
